Howard Stern bids Farewell to Terrestrial Radio
Friday, December 16th 2005, The day we've all been waiting for since Howard Stern made his announcement last year about moving to Sirius. He set off todays show with John Lennon's "Imagine" and played some incredible bits to honor guests who have since passed away. There was alot of comotion going on. The impending NYC transit strike didnt materialize so that helped alot. Many guests came thru and the crowd outside waiting to greet Howard Stern as he left Infinity were in for a treat as there was some crazy performances by The Wack Pack, Sal The Stockbroker & Richard Christy and a live performance by Beetlejuice alonside the super rock group Staind, performing The Beetle Song. One by one, the members of Howard's show came down... Gary Dell'abante, Fred Norris, Artie Lange, Robin Quivers and finally, the man himself, Howard Stern took center stage. It was a very heartfelt goodbye to the many fans in the crowd and the millions who have been tuning in for over 20 years on terrestrial radio. Big props to The Howard Stern Show, for standing up for free speech and moving on to an uncensored medium so hardcore fans like us can tune in to the show, the way it was meant to be heard. We leave you with snapshots and audio from today's celebration for THE KING OF ALL MEDIA.
